Vestments in Clay III - Ronel Koen

$480.00Price

Where adornment becomes a story of self.

Vestments in Clay III explores the connection between adornment, ritual and female identity, transforming the familiar language of clothing into a lasting sculptural form.

Created through a combination of hand-building and wheel-thrown techniques, the work brings together mid-fire and porcelain clays, mason stains and glazes. Its tactile surfaces and textile-inspired qualities evoke the layers, textures and traditions of garments, inviting us to consider the meaning held within the things we wear and the rituals we return to.

Part vessel, part symbolic vestment, the piece celebrates adornment as an expression of individuality, cultural memory and belonging. It honours the resilience and creativity of women, recognising how personal identity is continually shaped, expressed and preserved through the choices we make.

A small sculptural work with a deeper story — a reminder that even the most familiar rituals can hold profound meaning.
