Three Sardines - Laura White

Three Sardines.

An ordinary sardine, seen a little differently.

Laura White captures three sardines in luminous detail, attempting to catch the surprising spectrum of colour hidden within their reflective scales. Silvery blue, soft gold, subtle pinks and shifting tones that appear and disappear with the light.

Known for her quietly beautiful realist oil paintings, Laura brings the same sensitivity to light, colour and atmosphere to this simple still life. Built through layers of oil paint and translucent glazes, Three Sardines reveals depth and tonal shifts that invite you to pause and look a little closer.

A celebration of the beauty found in the everyday — and a reminder that even the most ordinary subject can hold something unexpected.
