Somewhere by the Sea - Ella Martin

Somewhere by the Sea

A tiny piece of summer, somewhere by the sea.

Somewhere by the Sea captures the feeling of a coastal memory. Sun-washed colour, soft light and those little details that linger long after the moment has passed.

Ella Martin’s tactile, imperfect marks give the work a sense of nostalgia, as though the scene has been remembered rather than precisely recorded. Small in scale but full of atmosphere, it evokes the quiet feeling of being somewhere warm, familiar and close to the water.

Part of Small Wonders, this little work celebrates how a simple glimpse of colour or place can bring an entire memory rushing back.
