Sand Maireener Shell is inspired by the Palawa Maireener Shell — one of the smallest shells in the world and part of an ancient practice continued by Palawa Women in Tasmania, who collect and string the shells into necklaces.

Jasmine reimagines this tiny natural form through Raku clay, triple-fired glaze and a soft mother-of-pearl lustre. The delicate finish draws attention to the beauty of something so small, while honouring the enduring cultural practice that inspired the work.
