Sometimes, you just need to disappear for a little while.

Afternoon Dip was inspired by a woman Charlotte noticed swimming alone at Bondi Beach on an ordinary weekday afternoon. There was something quietly familiar about the ritual, stepping away from the noise of everyday life and into the water, even just for a little while.

The moment also brought to mind Charlotte’s mum, who never misses a swim when they’re at the coast, rain, hail or shine. It’s a simple act, but one that speaks to something much bigger: the importance of pausing, breathing and giving yourself somewhere else to be.

Through her thoughtful and intimate approach to painting, Charlotte captures this fleeting moment of escape, a small everyday ritual that becomes a quiet act of care.
