Rainbow Mackerel - Pia Reynolds

Rainbow Mackerel

A little ocean magic, hiding in plain sight.

In Rainbow Mackerel, Pia Reynolds captures three shiny mackerel in a vibrant still life, celebrating the unexpected spectrum of colour reflected across their scales. Silvery blues, greens and flashes of rainbow-like colour transform these everyday fish into something wonderfully luminous.

For Small Wonders, Pia looks to the natural world for beauty in the unexpected. The reflective scales of the mackerel become the star of the piece — a reminder that even the simplest things from the ocean can hold an incredible amount of colour, texture and wonder.

With her expressive brushwork and rich, joyful colour, Pia creates a piece that feels fresh, playful and full of summer energy. A little celebration of the ocean, brought home.
