Memory of a Landscape (#1) - Alizon Gray

Memory of a Landscape (#1)

A landscape remembered, rather than simply seen.

In Memory of a Landscape (#1), Alizon Gray explores the fleeting nature of memory through layers of gesture, mark and colour. Rather than depicting a particular place, the painting captures the feeling of somewhere remembered. Familiar, but never quite fixed.

Built through layers of transparent veils, expressive marks and quieter concealed details, the work feels as though it is shifting between what we remember clearly and what has begun to fade.

There is something calm and reflective in the finished piece. A small landscape of memory, held in paint, inviting you to pause and find your own sense of place within it.
