Glimmers - Lizzie Alsop

Glimmers

There’s a whole world hiding in the bark of a gum tree.

In Glimmers, Lizzie Alsop zooms in on the often-overlooked beauty of the Australian gum tree, revealing the organic shapes, textures and layers hidden within its bark. What might normally pass unnoticed becomes something intricate and full of story — traces of time, weather and the life of the tree.

For Small Wonders, Lizzie looks closely at one of nature’s everyday details and invites us to see it differently. Working intuitively with acrylic, ink and pastel, she builds earthy layers across the canvas, allowing organic shapes and marks to emerge and unfold naturally.

Rooted in her lifelong connection to the Australian landscape, Lizzie’s work encourages us to slow down, look closer and bring a little of the outside world indoors.
